Illustrators Australia is run by volunteer illustrators, for illustrators. We are a large community of like-minded creatives — you can learn more about us here. We promote our members' work through exhibitions and events, advocate for greater visibility and support our members with advice, education and resources.
All memberships are open to residents of Australia, Aotearoa/New Zealand the Australasia Region. We welcome all types of illustration from traditional to digital, and we'd love to have you!

- Open to Australian, Aotearoa/New Zealand or Australasian Region citizens or residents, or those with an ongoing connection to Australia.
- All applications must be from genuine illustrators, designers or creatives.
- Student, Affiliate and Organisational members must prove their status.
- Professional members are peer-assessed to meet professional and ethical standards.
- You must agree to our T&Cs and Code of Conduct when applying.
Membership processing
- All memberships are reviewed and approved by the committee.
- All memberships are assessed against AI, copyright and quality standards.
- Applications are usually approved within a few days to 1–2 weeks.
- During busy periods such as holidays, please allow up to 30 days.
- We will endeavour to let you know the outcome of your application as soon as possible.
